If we’d only
won last Monday, we’d have taken first place in the league standings.
That would have put Agave second and Santa Clara third. As it stands
now, Agave is first, Santa Clara is second, and we are third. So,
wait—we would have played the same team anyway. We thought we should be
playing Agave in the first round, but they beat Santa Clara to take sole
possession of first. They instead will play Irapauto at the Bowl.
Confused yet?
The playoffs
are very interesting now because we play against Santa Clara at
Butcher. They won’t have the space to play their open game against us
like they did last time at the Bowl. Also to our benefit, all our
players will be in attendance, greatly helping our stamina, and if
nothing else, our psyche. They are also coming off a recent loss to
Agave, while we are on a huge unbeaten upswing—coming off a great tie
against Agave.
So what will
happen Monday? We are going to have a great game! It would be good to
have all players get to the field as early as possible. I’ll try to be
there by 5:00, so come as soon as you can. Call all your friends and
tell them to come! We need the Saltines and all others in strong
attendance!!! Butcher Park is very fan friendly, so invite everyone.
