CHAMPIONS 3 STRAIGHT
SEASONS!!
continued from page 1
During the halftime
intermission, players re-hydrated themselves, and noted that their feet
were especially hot. Playing on this field turf, for whatever reason,
makes your feet rather hot, and you have to be careful to not get
blisters. Pete Murray was upset that the field official didn’t water
the turf before the game—supposedly the water keeps the field cool. I
bet he still gets upset that tooth fairy no longer visits him in the
night…J

Despite the lack of
orange slices, the teams went back out to face the final 40 minutes.
Substitutions were made often to keep players fresh, but two solid
performers were Donny Dequine (aka “de queen of our team”) and Brandon
Stirm. The midfield was theirs, and they created many opportunities for
goals. If only Landon and Damarcus could have done some of the stuff
they did… They spread the ball out to the flanks, they made nice little
give-and-go’s, so if the ball went through them, it was on its way to
better places.
